Is Spliteroo free to use?

Yes! Spliteroo offers a free plan that includes unlimited bill splits, up to 10 friends, basic OCR scanning, and transaction history. We also offer a Pro plan with advanced features like unlimited friends and multi-currency support.

What is OCR scanning and how accurate is it?

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is AI-powered technology that reads text from images. When you take a photo of a receipt, our OCR automatically extracts items and prices. While highly accurate, you can always review and edit the results before splitting.

Can I split bills with people who don't have the app?

Currently, all participants need to have Spliteroo installed to track shared expenses. However, you can still use the app to calculate splits and share the results manually with those who don't have it.

How do I settle up with my friends?

Spliteroo tracks who owes whom and displays clear balances. When it's time to settle up, you can mark debts as paid within the app. The actual payment happens outside the app using your preferred method (Venmo, cash, bank transfer, etc.).

Is my financial data secure?

Absolutely. We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never store payment information or have access to your bank accounts. We only track what you manually enter or scan.

What currencies does Spliteroo support?

Our Pro plan supports multiple currencies, making it perfect for international travel. The free plan supports your local currency. We automatically handle currency conversion based on current exchange rates.
